Dirge of Cerberus is the often joked about but never actually expected union of Japanese singer Gackt and Final Fantasy. In addition to making an appearance in the game itself, Gackt recorded two songs for the soundtrack: the main theme "REDEMPTION" and an additional song "LONGING".
